So for obvious reasons, two of these people will remain private (because one is already very, very public). But I will say that I know and have spent time with all 3 of these girls and I trust their word. I also am exceptionally sick of being sent Youtubes entitled “How COVID Will KILL You” and “How a Healthy 34-year-old Died of Coronavirus” and so on. You never see a headline like: “These 3 #Bossbabes Tested Positive & Are Now Symptom Free.” So let me be that for you.
Girl #1: Arielle Charnas
Let’s just go here for a second. I know she’s getting a ton of heat right now but I’d like to argue the opposite. I think her sharing her experience is helpful for us all to see that the world didn’t end. YES Coronavirus is serious.. but NO not everyone is dying. If you want more deets on her journey/the internet publicly shaming her, you can read more here.
Her Symptoms:
- dry, then sore throat
- chest heaviness
- low grade fever
- headache
- sinus pressure
- no sense of taste or smell
- intense body aches
Girl #2: Blogger
If I say much here, people will immediately know who it is so my lips are zipped but this is from a very trusted source. She has been diligently quarantining and the doctors say it’s likely her husband contracted it from her and just has no symptoms (very real…. betcha many millions of people have it/had it and don’t show symptoms either.. no way to know!). “The intense cough and the tight chest were the scary part, but all in all it was not that bad. My flu last year was worse.”
Her Symptoms:
- scary cough
- sore throat
- headache
- low grade fever
- chest heaviness
- exhaustion
- light body aches
Girl #3: Journalist
Our 3rd Corona Contestant is also a good friend who I had lunch with while she was pronably contagious (I do not currently have symptoms and she quarantined immediately after getting sick.. don’t worry). “I feel fine now but just don’t have my smell and taste back yet… wayyy longer than any other sickness.”
Her Symptoms:
- body aches
- chest tightness
- no sense of taste or smell
Now, I’m not saying we should all cancel quarantine and go frolic in the park. Stay in your house… wash your hands…duh. But hopefully this helps shed some light on actual cases of CV from healthy women in our age range so we can spread less fear.
And just to reiterate what you already know, I am not a doctor. I am not pretending that all cases are created equal and I am not taking CV lightly (I have been quarantining for almost a full 4 weeks now). But I just wanted to shed some light on common symptoms and give you a headline of hope rather than distress.
On that note, if you feel any of those symptoms, DM your doc. Or if he doesn’t have IG, see if your phone still works. Do NOT leave the house until told by a medical professional. Oh, and wash your hands.. again. xoxo
